Privacy & your data

Siraj is private by design. Here, in plain language, is exactly what we collect, who can see it, and the controls you have. If anything here isn't clear, ask us.

What we collect

  • Your profile and community location (city / region / country, and an optional map pin or ZIP).
  • Content you create in the app — khutbahs, lessons, notes, observations, and your assessments.
  • Anonymous survey responses from your community.
  • Community context pulled from public data sources, keyed only to your area — never to individuals.

Who can access it

  • Only you. Your workspace is isolated to your own account; no other imam or user can see your data.
  • We never sell your data, never use it for advertising, and never share it with third parties for their own use.

Surveys are anonymous

  • Survey responses carry no name, login, or identifier — just the answers. Individual respondents cannot be traced back.

How AI is used

  • When the app drafts or analyzes something, that text is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to process your request.
  • Under their API terms, your content is not used to train their models.

Public data sources

  • When building the community picture, only your area (city / region / ZIP or map location) is sent to public data services — never personal information about you or your congregation.

Your controls

  • Export a full copy of your workspace at any time.
  • Permanently delete your account and all its data at any time, from Settings.

Security

  • Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored on managed, access-controlled infrastructure.
  • No system is perfectly breach-proof, so we practice data minimization — we collect only what the tool needs.

A note for imams

  • Notes you keep about members of your community are a trust (amānah). Please handle them with the same confidentiality you would in any pastoral care, and record only what serves the person.

In short: your data is private to your account, never sold, never used for ads, never used to train AI, and yours to export or delete anytime. Surveys are fully anonymous.
